The presence of officials from the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and several Local Government Chairmen symbolized a united security front one guided by a leader who believes that collaboration is essential to peace. Presenting the allocation letter on behalf of the Director General, Special Services, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd), the Director, Special Services, Umar Baba Zubairu, highlighted that the vehicles and motorcycles would significantly enhance the JTF’s mobility, visibility, and patrol capabilities.   Why This Intervention Matters Now Security challenges across northern Nigeria continue to evolve. Criminal elements often exploit remote terrains, poor road networks, and slow response times. In such environments, mobility is everything. The donation of vehicles and motorcycles is therefore a strategic response to a very real operational need. Vehicles allow for sustained patrols, transportation of personnel, and reinforcement during operations. Motorcycles, on the other hand, can reach places inaccessible to larger vehicles narrow pathways, forest areas, and difficult terrain where criminals sometimes hide or escape through. Farmers in Tsanyawa, traders in Kunchi, women and children in Tudun Wada, and the youth in Doguwa will now see increased security presence, a visible sign that their welfare matters deeply to the man leading the state. It is a revival of hope, hope that villages will become safer, that movement will be freer, that children can go to school without fear, and that farmers can return to their fields with confidence. The Kano State Government has congratulated QS Dr Aminu M. Bashir on his emergence and investiture as the 28th President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS). Dr Bashir, who becomes the first Kano indigene to lead the prestigious national professional body, was described by the state government as a symbol of pride and inspiration to the people of Kano State. In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government said Dr Bashir’s elevation reflects his professionalism, dedication, and significant contributions to the growth of the quantity surveying profession in Nigeria. The Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Hon. Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, has described the establishment of the Kano Online Media Chapel as timely and highly commendable. Dungurawa made the remarks when he received the executive members of the newly formed chapel during a courtesy visit to the NNPP State Secretariat. He urged the members to work as a united team with dedication and commitment, noting that success in any new venture requires hard work and resilience. “To actualise anything new, you have to work hard because there are always challenges, catastrophic issues, hurdles, obstacles, and other difficulties,” he said. The chairman emphasised that online journalism has become increasingly essential in the evolving media landscape. He, however, advised practitioners to uphold professionalism, ethics, and decorum to safeguard the rights and reputations of individuals and groups. Earlier, the Chairman of the Kano Online Media Chapel, Comrade Abubakar Abdulkadir Dangambo, said the visit was aimed at formally introducing the new executive members. He called on politicians to strengthen their working relationship with online media platforms for more effective public communication. Dangambo stressed that journalism and politics are interdependent components of nation-building but maintained that professional journalists remain guided by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and do not engage in bias or political partisanship. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has embarked on an operational tour of border communities in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas, following recent security concerns linked to migrating bandits. The visit, conducted in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, was aimed at assessing deployments, strengthening border security, and boosting the morale of personnel stationed in vulnerable communities. According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the tour comes amid reported cases of abduction and cattle rustling in the axis. The Police Commissioner also expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government, local government chairmen, and community stakeholders for their cooperation and support toward sustaining peace in the region.
