Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said the nomination and confirmation of Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor were based on his proven competence and commitment to the development of the state.
The governor made this known on Tuesday while declaring open the 39th Executive Council Meeting held at the Government House, Kano.
According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, Yusuf explained that the decision followed a careful selection process after the resignation of the former Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo.
“We tried as much as possible to select someone who can make meaningful contributions to the development of the state,” the governor said.
