Jama’atul Wa’azu Wal Irshad Reaffirms Commitment to Da’awah, Humanitarian Services

The Jama’atul Wa’azu Wal Irshad (Islamic Preaching and Guidance Association) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Islamic Da’awah, humanitarian services and community development as it ushers in a new leadership.

The newly inaugurated Amir of the association, Malam Ali Aliyu, made the pledge during a special gathering held to formally assume leadership of the organisation following the demise of its former Amir.

Malam Aliyu said the association, which has been in active service for more than 25 years, has made significant contributions to society through Islamic propagation, educational support and humanitarian interventions.

According to him, one of the association’s major achievements is the provision of scholarships to numerous young Nigerians to study Medicine and other critical professional courses needed for national development.

He explained that the organisation has also sustained extensive Da’awah outreach programmes in predominantly non-Muslim communities, enabling thousands of people across Kano State, other parts of Nigeria, as well as the Republics of Niger and Cameroon, to embrace Islam.

“We have also constructed schools and mosques in several communities where such facilities were lacking. Outside Nigeria, we have successfully built mosques and schools in the Republic of Niger,” he said.

The Amir further disclosed that Jama’atul Wa’azu Wal Irshad currently operates through nine branches across Nigeria, noting that the association has continued to record remarkable success in its Islamic propagation activities.

Speaking earlier, the Chief Imam of Zam-Zam Juma’at Mosque, under the auspices of Jama’atul Wa’azu Wal Irshad, Professor Sanusi Yuguda Kofar Nasarawa, said the association’s next major initiative would focus on environmental sustainability through a tree-planting campaign aimed at combating desertification and environmental degradation.

Professor Yuguda noted that the programme is expected to contribute to environmental protection while complementing the association’s humanitarian and community development efforts.

In his acceptance remarks, Malam Ali Aliyu pledged to revive the association’s Economic Committee to strengthen its financial sustainability through legitimate income-generating projects that would support its day-to-day operations and future programmes.

He stressed that Islam provides guidance in every aspect of human life, adding that the association’s mission extends beyond Da’awah to promoting education, economic empowerment, professional development and social responsibility.

The Amir therefore urged members to actively participate in professional bodies, community organisations and other lawful endeavours that would contribute to personal growth and societal development while upholding Islamic values.

The association also recognised the immense contributions of its pioneer leaders and veteran members, commending their sacrifices, dedication and commitment to the growth of the organisation over the years. It urged their children and the younger generation to build on the legacy of their parents by taking up greater responsibilities within the association, while continuing to support its mission and uphold its ideals for future generations.

Headquartered in Hotoro, Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Jama’atul Wa’azu Wal Irshad has continued to expand its activities through its nine branches across Nigeria, focusing on Islamic preaching, education, humanitarian assistance and community development.
