FG unveils 65 FreeTV channels Nigerians can watch without subscription

The Federal Government has unveiled the full list of television channels available on its newly launched FreeTV platform, giving Nigerians access to 65 local and international channels without paying monthly subscription fees.

The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to accelerate Nigeria’s digital broadcasting transition and expand access to quality television content through free-to-air digital services.

FreeTV offers viewers a wide range of programming, including news, sports, entertainment, movies, children’s content, music, education and lifestyle channels. The platform is designed to provide subscription-free digital television services to households with compatible digital television sets or approved decoders.

Among the channels available on the platform are NTA, Channels TV, AIT, TVC, Arise News, News Central, Trust TV, Wazobia TV, NTA Sports 24, CNBC TV, Azam TV, Afro Cinema and several regional and specialised stations from across the country.

According to the government, the initiative is expected to improve public access to information, entertainment and educational content while strengthening Nigeria’s ongoing migration from analogue to digital television broadcasting.
