A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Nyesom Wike has fixed its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at ₦51 million ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development was disclosed by the faction’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, in an election timetable released on Wednesday.
According to the timetable, the sale of forms will commence on April 27 and close on May 4, while May 9 has been set as the deadline for submission of completed applications.
A breakdown of the fees indicates that the expression of interest form for all positions is pegged at ₦1 million, while nomination fees vary across offices. Aspirants for State Houses of Assembly are to pay ₦2 million, House of Representatives ₦3 million, Senate ₦5 million, governorship ₦20 million, and presidential aspirants ₦50 million, bringing the total for the presidential ticket to ₦51 million.

The timetable further shows that screening exercises for State Assembly, National Assembly, and governorship aspirants will hold on May 11, while presidential aspirants will be screened on May 12.
The presidential primary election has been scheduled for May 18, while governorship primaries are slated for May 27. House of Representatives primaries will take place on May 21, Senate primaries on May 23, and State Assembly primaries between May 21 and May 24. All appeals arising from the exercises are expected to be concluded by May 30, 2026.
Bature, however, disclosed that female aspirants would only be required to pay the expression of interest fee for their respective positions.
The announcement comes amid a protracted leadership crisis within the PDP, which has split the party into rival factions.
One faction is led by Kabiru Turaki, with the backing of Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, while the opposing camp is led by Abdulrahman Mohammed and is reportedly supported by Wike.
Meanwhile, multiple lawsuits arising from the factional dispute remain pending before the courts, further complicating the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
