The Kano State House of Assembly has fixed Monday, April 27, 2026, for the screening of the deputy governor nominee, Hon. Murtala Sule Garo.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Jibrin Isma’il Falgore, announced the date during plenary on Wednesday after reading a formal request from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The nomination of Garo follows the recent resignation of the former Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.

‘The Historica Nigeria’ recalls that Governor Yusuf had earlier forwarded Garo’s name to the Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.
The scheduled screening is expected to pave the way for legislative consideration of the nominee as the state moves to fill the vacant deputy governorship position.
