President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments across key institutions in Nigeria’s education sector.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu has been appointed as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Examinations Council, while the Registrar, Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, will continue in office.
For the National Board for Technical Education, the President named Professor Babatunde Salako as Chairman, and reappointed the Executive Secretary, Professor Idris M. Bugaje, for a second and final term of five years.

The statement described Salako as a globally respected researcher with extensive experience in higher education, institutional governance, and policy leadership.
In a related development, Engr. Dr Bongfa Binfa has been appointed as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nyak-Shendam in Plateau State for a single term of five years, following the completion of a formal selection process.
The President also renewed the tenure of Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi as Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria for a final five-year term.
According to the statement, Anunobi has led several reforms aimed at repositioning the National Library into a modern, technology-driven knowledge institution.
The renewal is expected to ensure continuity in ongoing reforms, including the completion of the National Library Headquarters project and the implementation of its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan.
President Tinubu expressed confidence that the new appointments and tenure renewals would strengthen institutional governance and enhance service delivery across the affected agencies.
