Barau FC Rally to Defeat Remo Stars, Extend Unbeaten Run

Barau Football Club returned to winning ways with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Remo Stars in their Matchday 34 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The match, played on Sunday, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, saw the hosts come from behind to secure all three points in an entertaining contest.

The visitors took the lead early in the second half when Haruna Hadi found the back of the net in the 63rd minute, putting Remo Stars ahead.

Barau FC responded swiftly, as striker Joseph Atule restored parity just three minutes later, heading home a well-delivered cross from Sugau Aliyu in the 66th minute.

The decisive moment came late in the game when Joseph Kemin scored in the 86th minute to complete the comeback and seal victory for the Kano-based side.

The win extends Barau FC’s unbeaten run to five matches, underlining their improving form as the season progresses. The result also lifts the team to ninth position on the league table with 46 points from 34 matches.

Team captain Usman Maidubji, who delivered an outstanding performance, was named Player of the Match, praising his teammates for their resilience and determination after the game.

Reacting, Technical Adviser Eugene Agagbe described the encounter as tough, noting that the visitors were highly motivated due to their relegation battle. He, however, commended his players for sticking to their game plan to secure victory.
