“The Committee decided to reduce the Monetary Policy Rate by 50 basis points to 27 per cent,” Cardoso said.

The adjustment comes after three consecutive pauses in rate changes and follows six straight hikes recorded in 2024. Cardoso explained that the cut was influenced by consistent signs of disinflation in recent months.
