President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Thursday after official engagements in Japan and Brazil.
His spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, said the presidential jet departed Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday and landed in Abuja in the early hours of Thursday.

Tinubu had earlier participated in the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, Japan, where he attended the opening ceremony, the plenary session, and held bilateral meetings. He also met with members of the Nigerian community during an interactive session.
Following TICAD9, the president made a brief stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to Brasília, Brazil, where he held talks with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Both leaders presided over the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding covering aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture sectors, Tinubu described as central to Nigeria’s development priorities.
On arrival in Abuja, Tinubu was received by top government officials and dignitaries.
