He said the suspects were allegedly operating an unregistered petroleum and gas business without the required authorisation.

According to him, the facility has been sealed, while investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the alleged illegal activities.

The State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, said the operation was part of the command’s efforts to combat economic sabotage, protect the environment and enforce regulations governing petroleum and gas operations.

He warned that illegal refining activities posed serious threats to public health and the environment, urging residents to report suspicious operations to security agencies.

The command added that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
