Fulani livestock traders return to Falgore market after leaving Anchau

The Falgore Development Association in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting economic development and creating business opportunities for residents through the revitalisation of the historic Falgore Daji Market.

Chairman of the association, Shuaibu Muhammad Akilu, disclosed this during an initiative aimed at strengthening commercial activities at the market, which is widely known for the trading of cattle, other livestock and food grains.

Akilu explained that the renewed drive followed the decision by groups of Fulani livestock traders to relocate their commercial activities to Falgore Daji after previously conducting business in Anchau, Kaduna State. He noted that the development presents an opportunity to reposition the market as a major livestock trading hub in northern Nigeria.

According to him, the Fulani traders have agreed to make Falgore Tuesday Market their regular trading centre, with commercial activities scheduled to hold every Tuesday.

He recalled that the Falgore Daji Market had traditionally operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, attracting traders from different parts of Kano State and neighbouring states.

Akilu appealed to Fulani livestock dealers and other business operators to continue patronising the market, saying increased commercial activities would stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities and enhance the livelihoods of residents across Doguwa Local Government Area and Kano State.

He expressed optimism that the renewed patronage would restore the market’s historical status as one of the leading livestock and agricultural produce markets in the region while contributing significantly to the state’s economy.
