FRSC opens nationwide recruitment, announces vacancies across three cadres

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise, inviting suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for various positions across its Officer, Marshal Inspectorate and Road Marshal Assistant cadres.

In a recruitment notice issued by the Corps, the FRSC said the exercise is aimed at attracting vibrant, intelligent and committed individuals to strengthen road safety administration and traffic management across the country.

The Corps emphasised that the recruitment exercise is completely free of charge, warning applicants to beware of fraudsters. Applications are to be submitted online through the official FRSC recruitment portal, while shortlisted candidates will be required to present printed copies of their application forms during the screening exercise.

Officer Cadre

The Officer Cadre consists of three categories:

i. Superintendent Route Commander (SRC) – CONPASS 11

Applicants must possess a first degree in MBBS/MBBCH (Medical Doctors) from recognised institutions, with a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age.

ii. Route Commander/Deputy Route Commander (RC/DRC) – CONPASS 10/09

Candidates must possess a first degree in B.Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, BMLS, LL.B/BL, Engineering or other relevant disciplines, with NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Applicants must also be between 18 and 35 years.

iii. Assistant Route Commander (ARC) – CONPASS 08

Applicants must possess B.Sc, BA or HND from recognised institutions, alongside NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and must be between 18 and 35 years.

Marshal Inspectorate Cadre

For the Marshal Inspector II & III (MI-II & MI-III) positions under CONPASS 07 and 06, applicants are required to possess NCE, ND, Registered Nursing (RN/RM), Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) qualifications or equivalent certificates from recognised institutions.

Candidates for this cadre must be between 18 and 30 years of age.

Road Marshal Assistant Cadre

The Corps also announced vacancies in the Road Marshal Assistant Cadre, comprising:

• Road Marshal Assistant II & III (RMA II & III) – CONPASS 04 & 03
• Drivers/Riders and Artisans

Applicants for the Road Marshal Assistant positions must possess a minimum of three credit passes in SSCE (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) obtained in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, and must be between 18 and 30 years of age.

The Drivers/Riders and Artisans category is open to computer operators, drivers, mechanics, motorcycle riders, electricians, instrumentalists, tailors, plumbers and other skilled artisans.

In addition to the minimum SSCE requirement, applicants in this category must possess:

• Relevant trade test certificates or professional qualifications where applicable.
• Appropriate class of valid driver’s licence for drivers and motorcycle riders.
• Physical and mental fitness.
• Drivers of articulated or tow trucks must be between 26 and 40 years.

General Requirements

According to the FRSC, all applicants must:

• Be Nigerians by birth.
• Be computer literate.
• Possess a valid National Driver’s Licence (an added advantage for all cadres).
• Present genuine academic and professional qualifications.
• Be medically fit with a Medical Fitness Certificate from a government-approved hospital.
• Be single.
• Have a minimum height of 1.65 metres for males and 1.58 metres for females.
• Hold current practising licences where applicable for medical and allied professionals.
• Be of good character, free from criminal convictions and financial indebtedness.
• Have no tattoos on any part of the body.
• Register using their personal email address and phone number.
• Prospective applicants who are pregnant are advised not to apply.

The Corps stated that applications must be submitted online through its recruitment portal at https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng.

According to the notice, the application portal will open on Friday, July 3, 2026, while applications will remain open for four weeks from the commencement date.

The FRSC reiterated that the recruitment exercise is absolutely free, urging applicants to ignore anyone demanding payment in exchange for employment.

The Corps noted that the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its workforce and enhance its capacity to improve road safety administration and traffic management nationwide.
