Ganduje salutes Sultan, Babangida on 70th, 85th birthdays

Former Kano State Governor and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, CFR, on his 70th birthday.

In a message issued on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Ganduje described the Sultan as a wise and peace-loving leader who has continued to play an important role in promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and national understanding.

He commended the Sultan’s contributions to strengthening peace and fostering mutual understanding among Nigerians, describing his leadership as an important asset to the country.

Ganduje also congratulated former Military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (Rtd.), GCFR, on his 85th birthday.

The former Kano governor described Babangida as a distinguished Nigerian who had devoted significant years of his life to the service of the country.

Ganduje prayed to Allah to grant both elder statesmen good health, wisdom and long life, while giving them the opportunity to continue contributing to the development and wellbeing of the nation and its people.

He also prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Nigeria.
