The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, has urged Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) to prioritise the mobilisation of women and young people as it strengthens its political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bunkure made the call after joining Vice President Kashim Shettima and other members of A4A at the inauguration of the organisation’s campaign structure and the official unveiling of its head office in Area 11, Garki, Abuja.

She stressed the need for inclusive political mobilisation, issue-based advocacy, peaceful engagement and respect for the rule of law as the organisation works to expand its grassroots support.

The minister also reaffirmed her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the administration’s reform efforts as important to strengthening the economy, improving infrastructure, expanding opportunities and promoting sustainable national development.

She said the Arewa community remained a vital force in Nigeria’s political, economic and social development, adding that unity, diversity and a shared commitment to national progress were essential to building a peaceful, prosperous and united country.

Bunkure urged A4A leaders and members to ensure that their political activities ahead of 2027 were guided by discipline, integrity and national unity, warning against allowing political differences to weaken the bonds that unite Nigerians.

She congratulated the organisation’s leadership and members on the inauguration of its campaign structure and the unveiling of its head office, describing the development as an important step towards strengthening political organisation and promoting constructive participation in the democratic process.

The minister expressed hope that A4A would sustain its mobilisation efforts and contribute to greater democratic participation in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration drew key APC figures from the North, including National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Rep. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, underscoring the party stakeholders’ presence at the launch of the A4A campaign structure.
