FAAN Restores Normal Operations At Lagos Airport Terminal 2 After Fire

Normal operations have resumed at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, following a fire incident reported at the facility on Sunday.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had earlier confirmed the incident, saying its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) was immediately deployed to the scene to contain the situation and prevent it from escalating.

FAAN also assured the public that no casualties or injuries were recorded in the incident.

“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation,” the authority said in its initial statement.

In a subsequent update, FAAN announced that normal activities had resumed at the terminal.

“Normal operations have resumed at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, following the earlier incident. Passengers are being processed, and flight activities are continuing as scheduled,” the authority stated.

The cause of the fire has not been disclosed.

FAAN said further details would be provided as more information becomes available.
