D’banj Excludes Wizkid from Top 3 Nigerian Artistes, Praises Rema, Davido, Burna Boy

Veteran Nigerian singer D’banj has stirred conversation in the music scene after naming his top three current artistes, Rema, Davido, and Burna Boy while notably excluding Wizkid from the list.

Speaking on the Adesope Podcast, D’banj was asked to name the three Nigerian artistes he is currently listening to. He responded with high praise for each of his picks:

“Shout out to Rema. I love Rema’s energy,” D’banj said.

“There’s this guy that I love a lot and he loves me too. He will be doing as if, tomorrow, if he wakes up, there’s no money, David [Davido] is hustling like he doesn’t have money.

While D’banj didn’t mention Wizkid, one of Nigeria’s biggest global music exports, the omission has sparked reactions among fans online.
