FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, following the commissioning of the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road in Kubwa, describing the project as another milestone in the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Friday in Bwari Area Council, marked the successful conclusion of the FCT Administration’s 31-day infrastructure project commissioning programme to commemorate the third anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.

Reflecting on the event, Dr. Bunkure said the completion and inauguration of the road underscored the administration’s commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure that improves the lives of residents across the Federal Capital Territory.

She expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for what she described as his visionary leadership and unwavering support, which she said had driven the successful execution of landmark infrastructure projects across the FCT.

The Minister of State also paid glowing tribute to the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, CON, for his exceptional leadership, dedication and commitment to delivering critical infrastructure projects across the nation’s capital.

Dr. Bunkure further appreciated members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, development partners, contractors, security agencies, the media and residents for their invaluable support and cooperation throughout the execution of the projects.

At the commissioning, President Tinubu, represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, said the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road was a practical demonstration of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its commitment to delivering visible and impactful development.

Describing the event as the culmination of the FCT Administration’s 31-day project commissioning exercise, the President said the road symbolised his government’s resolve to transform promises into tangible results for Nigerians.

“This ceremony is not just about opening a road. It is a practical validation of our Renewed Hope Agenda,” the President stated in a speech delivered by the Speaker.

President Tinubu noted that the administration’s development agenda extends beyond Abuja’s city centre to include suburbs, outskirts and satellite communities such as Kubwa. He added that the reconstructed road would significantly reduce travel time, ease traffic congestion along the Kubwa corridor and provide safer connectivity to the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX).

Speaking at the event, the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, said the scale of infrastructure development under President Tinubu’s administration had become the administration’s strongest response to political critics.

According to him, the numerous completed projects across the FCT have transformed governance in the territory and provided residents with visible evidence of the government’s performance.

“If there are opponents of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with what you have done in their lifetime, they cannot do anything again. If they go to the people of Gbazango, the people will ask them, ‘When you were there, what did you do?’ This is what we call ‘operation show your report card.’ If you call Tinubu today, he will show you his report card on the satellite towns and on the city,” Wike said.
