At a time when efficient administration remains essential to the smooth operation of public institutions, Hauwa Abdullahi Shuaibu is building her career in one of the state’s important public institutions, that is the Kano State Judiciary.
Born in 1998, Shuaibu is an Assistant Registrar with the Kano State Judiciary, where she applies her training in Business Administration and Management to the administrative demands of the justice system.
Since joining the service in 2023, she has taken on responsibilities that include managing Magistrate Court administration and overseeing day-to-day activities, making organisation and coordination central to her professional role.
Although her academic background is outside the legal profession, her work highlights the importance of administrative expertise in supporting the effective functioning of judicial institutions.

Shuaibu hails from Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State. She was born into the family of late Malam Shuaibu Musa, an Islamic cleric.

Her educational journey began at Aunty Laila Private School in Tarauni, Kano, where she obtained her Primary School Leaving Certificate. She later attended Kano Capital School for her secondary education, earning her Senior Secondary School Certificate.
Determined to develop her knowledge of administration and management, she proceeded to Kano State Polytechnic.
There, she obtained a Diploma in Business Administration and Management before advancing to a Higher National Diploma (HND) in the same discipline.
The qualifications equipped her with an academic foundation relevant to organisational coordination, administrative procedures and the management of institutional responsibilities.
Career in judicial administration
Shuaibu joined the Kano State Judiciary in 2023, beginning a career in public service that draws on her background in administration rather than legal practice.
As an Assistant Registrar, her responsibilities include managing Magistrate Court administration and coordinating routine activities essential to the court’s daily operations.
Court administration involves more than routine paperwork. It requires organisation, coordination and attention to the processes that enable judicial institutions to function effectively.
Her role illustrates the contribution of non-legal professionals to the justice system, where administrative personnel work alongside legal practitioners and judicial officers to support institutional operations.
For Shuaibu, her professional training provides a basis for approaching these responsibilities through the principles of administration and management.
Young, focused and making a difference
At 28, Shuaibu represents a younger generation of public servants developing careers in administrative roles within government institutions.
Her journey from studying Business Administration and Management to working in judicial administration demonstrates how qualifications outside the traditional legal disciplines can provide pathways into the justice sector.
As she continues to gain experience, her professional development will depend on the knowledge, competence and administrative capacity she brings to the responsibilities entrusted to her.
Away from her official duties, Shuaibu is married and has a family.
Her career offers a glimpse into the often less visible administrative work that supports the functioning of public institutions, highlighting the place of professional management in the delivery of public services.
