Murtala Garo Leads Kano Govt Delegation to Sokoto Over Death of Sardauna

A delegation from the Kano State Government, led by Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo, has paid a condolence visit to Sokoto State following the death of the Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji.

The delegation, which visited Sokoto on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, included the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim; Emir of Rano, HRH Muhammad Isa Umar; State APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji; and other senior government officials.

The delegation first visited the residence of the late Sardauna of Sokoto, where it conveyed Governor Yusuf’s condolences to the deceased’s family.

The delegation was received by the deceased’s first son, Aminu Abubakar Alhaji, who appreciated Governor Yusuf’s gesture of sympathy and solidarity.

The Kano delegation also visited the Palace of the Sultan of Sokoto to convey Governor Yusuf’s condolences to His Eminence, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III.

The Sultan expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for the gesture, describing it as a reflection of the unity and enduring brotherhood among the people of Northern Nigeria.

The delegation later proceeded to the Sokoto State Government House, where it conveyed the Governor’s sympathy to the government and people of the state over the loss.

Governor Yusuf prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Sardauna of Sokoto, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and grant comfort to his family, the Sultanate Council and the people of Sokoto State.
