A prominent figure, Idris Ahmad Kurawa, has been turbaned as Majidadin Danmalikin Kano in a colourful ceremony held in Rimin Gado Local Government Area of Kano State.
The event, which also saw the turbaning of eight other distinguished personalities, attracted a large turnout of family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers from across the country, reflecting the significance of the occasion.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Hakimin Rimin Gado, Auwal Mudi Yakasai, said the conferment of the title was in recognition of Kurawa’s contributions to society, particularly his efforts in promoting peace and supporting the less privileged.
He described the honouree as a dedicated and compassionate individual whose commitment to community development and humanitarian service distinguished him among his peers.

“His selfless service to humanity and commitment to peace and development are worthy of emulation. It is on this basis that we found him deserving of the title Majidadin Danmalikin Kano,” the traditional ruler said.
In his response, Kurawa expressed gratitude for the honour, thanking the Danmalikin Kano and all those who attended the ceremony from far and near to celebrate with him.
He reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving humanity, pledging to intensify efforts aimed at promoting peace, unity, and social development within the community and beyond.
The ceremony featured cultural displays, goodwill messages, and prayers for peace and progress in Kano State, underscoring the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in fostering unity and development.
