The Chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Kano State, Dr. Yakubu Uba Muhammad, has called on members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and aggrieved aspirants within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider joining the YPP as a credible platform to secure their political future.
Dr. Yakubu made the call against the backdrop of ongoing political uncertainties within the ADC and PDP, which have been engulfed in prolonged internal leadership crises marked by factional disputes, litigation, and struggles over legitimate control of party structures.
He noted that the two major opposition parties, the African Democratic Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, are currently experiencing intensified internal challenges that have continued to weaken their stability and public confidence. According to him, these developments have left many politicians uncertain about their political direction ahead of future elections.
In the ADC, Dr. Yakubu observed that the leadership crisis has deepened following rival claims to the party’s national structure, with the matter now moving through different levels of the judiciary, including a Supreme Court decision directing further determination at the Federal High Court. He said this reflects the depth of division within the party.

He also noted that the PDP is facing similar instability following controversies surrounding its national convention and leadership legitimacy, which have resulted in conflicting court interpretations and internal disagreements that continue to affect party cohesion.
Dr. Yakubu further stated that the YPP offers a stable, inclusive, and forward-looking political platform for individuals seeking credible participation in governance. He specifically urged APC members who were unable to secure nomination forms or party tickets to consider defecting to the YPP, describing it as a viable alternative for political engagement.
According to him, the YPP remains committed to providing equal opportunity, internal democracy, and a level playing field for all members, regardless of political background.
