Governor Malam Umar Namadi has congratulated the newly appointed management of the Federal College of Agriculture, Kirikasamma, and pledged Jigawa State Government’s full support as the institution prepares for its official takeoff. He described Dr. Gwaram as a proud son of Jigawa who has consistently advised government on agricultural transformation, even during his tenure as Provost of the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT), Kano. Governor Namadi noted that Dr. Gwaram’s long-standing commitment toward establishing the new agricultural college in Kirikasamma has finally materialized, adding that his presence in Jigawa will further strengthen the state’s drive toward agricultural advancement. He acknowledged the Provost’s dedication and sacrifices, describing him as a committed citizen whose contributions extend beyond Jigawa to national development. He assured that the state government will provide all necessary support to ensure smooth operations and early stabilization of the institution. Jigawa Governor Presents 2026 Budget, Prioritises Development Across State

Jigawa State Governor earlier today presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly, proposing a ₦901.8 billion budget aimed at accelerating development across the state. The budget reflects a 19.2% increase compared to the 2025 fiscal plan and is anchored on the government’s 12-Point Agenda and the new Comprehensive Development Framework. Governor said over ₦693.4 billion, representing 77% of the total budget, is earmarked for capital investments. “This means more roads, stronger agriculture, reliable power, thriving markets, new jobs for our young people, and improved public services that touch everyday life,” the Governor stated. The budget prioritises key sectors including roads and transport, education, healthcare, agriculture and livestock, power and energy, commerce and investments, youth empowerment, information, culture, and sports. It also strengthens provisions for clean water, environmental protection, climate resilience, housing, urban development, and community governance. Zone One AIG Convenes Strategic Meeting Over Rising Insecurity in Kano, Jigawa

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone One Headquarters, Kano, AIG Ahmed Garba, has convened a high-level meeting with tactical and intelligence commanders from Kano and Jigawa States to address the recent surge in banditry affecting parts of Kano State. This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, CSP Bashir Muhammad ANIPR. According to the statement, the meeting, held on November 25, 2025, focused on developing a coordinated and comprehensive strategy to curb the rising security threats in the zone. The AIG and field commanders reviewed ongoing operations and agreed on modalities to strengthen the ongoing deployment of police personnel from the Kano Command as well as military units already stationed in the affected communities. Governor Namadi Assures Full Support for Federal College of Agriculture Kirikasamma Takeoff

Governor Malam Umar Namadi has pledged the Jigawa State Government’s full support to the newly appointed management of the Federal College of Agriculture, Kirikasamma, as the institution prepares for its official takeoff. The governor made the commitment while receiving the pioneer management team, led by the Provost, Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, during a courtesy visit to Government House, Dutse. Governor Namadi described the appointments as historic, noting that establishing a new federal institution requires dedication, vision, and technical capacity. He expressed confidence in the calibre of the new management team to lay a strong foundation for the college. “Establishing a new institution is not an effortless task. You are now part of history. If the college succeeds, your names will be remembered positively; if it fails, the same applies. But I am confident, given the calibre of the team, that the college is starting on the right footing,” he said. And let me inform you, Provost: we are working on securing a third federal institution for Jigawa. I have discussed it with the president, and Insha’Allah, it will come to fruition.” Governor Namadi assured the management of the state government’s unwavering support to ensure a smooth and successful takeoff of the college. “As a government, we will do everything possible to ensure the successful takeoff of the college. You have our full support. We are very fortunate to have Dr. Gwaram leading this institution—an experienced agriculturist, a seasoned administrator, and a committed son of Jigawa,” he stated. He further commended the Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Education, Hon. Fulata (member representing Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency), the Provost, and the Jigawa State Commissioner for Higher Education for their roles in facilitating the establishment of the institutions. We intend to educate our farmers and bring other relevant agencies into Jigawa,” he said. The Birnin-Kudu Old Boys Association (BIKOBA) has commiserated with the Jigawa State Judiciary, the family of the late Kadi Bashir Birnin-Kudu, and the people of the state over his passing, describing him as a pillar of Islamic legal education and justice administration. In a condolence message issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the association, Mahmud Ibrahim Kwari, the BIKOBA President, Alhaji Ja’afar Usman Muhammad (Turakin Gaya), said the late Kadi Bashir’s lifetime was devoted to promoting Islamic legal scholarship and fostering the principles of justice in both Kano and Jigawa States. According to the BIKOBA President, the late Kadi Bashir played a foundational role in training and mentoring generations of legal professionals and scholars, many of whom now serve across the judiciary and academic institutions in Nigeria. He further described the deceased as a unifying figure and a spiritual leader who promoted faith and harmony within the Muslim community through his service as Chief Imam of the Dutse Central Mosque and Chairman of the Jigawa State Council of Ulama. “Late Kadi Bashir Birnin-Kudu’s contributions to the Sharia legal system and his dedication to justice will remain indelible in the hearts of all who knew him,” Alhaji Ja’afar said. He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdausi and comfort his immediate family, particularly his elder brother, Malam Sale Ahmed Birnin-Kudu, as well as the Jigawa judiciary and the people of the state over the irreparable loss.

The political scene in Jigawa State is witnessing a major shift, with Governor Umar Namadi now openly showing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid after months of silence. For months, Namadi had anchored his citizens’ engagement programmes strictly on state-level issues — service delivery, local governance, and development — without a direct mention of the president. This approach had sparked speculations over Jigawa’s loyalty within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), especially as other northern states openly identified with Tinubu. But the tide changed after loyalists of former governor and current Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, began staging events across the state to mobilise for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition. The gatherings, held in different communities, carried strong pro-Tinubu messages that many observers interpreted as a subtle challenge to Namadi’s political positioning. Both Namadi and Badaru are competing to show who is more loyal to Tinubu, and in the end, that competition strengthens Tinubu’s base in the state.” However, some political watchers warn that the sudden chorus of loyalty may be more about political expediency than genuine conviction. Ignoring Tinubu, they argue, could prove risky for Namadi at the national level, while embracing him ensures his relevance in both state and federal politics. For now, the message from Jigawa APC is clear: rather than fracture Tinubu’s chances, the party’s internal contest is turning into a stronger push for the president’s second term bid.

A prominent political figure in Jigawa State, Hon. Najash Abdulhamid Babura, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Maulud, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In a goodwill message issued on Thursday, Babura described the day as one of great blessing, reminding Muslims of the mercy Allah bestowed upon the universe through the Prophet (peace be upon him).
