President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved an 18-month extension of the tenures of the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, and the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap.
The extension will keep Nwakuche in office until May 26, 2028, while Nandap’s tenure will run until June 30, 2028.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the extension followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to address a succession gap in both services and give their boards sufficient time to appoint successors.
