APC’s By-Election Triumph Reflects Public Confidence, Says Governor Yusuf

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has described the outcome of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election as a strong indication of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s growing popularity and a positive sign ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the remark in a statement issued by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, following the victory recorded by the APC candidate in the by-election.

According to Governor Yusuf, the massive voter turnout and peaceful conduct of the election demonstrated the confidence reposed in the APC by the people of the constituency and Kano State at large.

He stated that the election was conducted in a free, fair and credible atmosphere, reflecting the genuine will of the electorate and strengthening public trust in the democratic process.

The governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conduct of the exercise and praised security agencies for maintaining peace and order before, during and after the election.

Governor Yusuf noted that the outcome of the poll further reinforces confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system and showcases the maturity of the country’s democracy.

He congratulated the APC candidate on his victory and urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by providing effective representation and remaining responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people.

The governor said the result sends a clear message that the APC remains a formidable political force in Kano State and is well-positioned for future electoral victories.

He also took a swipe at the New Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to field a candidate in the by-election, describing the party as a political movement without visible grassroots support in the state.

According to him, the party’s absence from the contest reflected its inability to compete with the APC and highlighted what he described as the growing strength and acceptance of the ruling party among the electorate.

Governor Yusuf reassured residents of Kano State of his administration’s commitment to implementing people-oriented projects and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of citizens and accelerating development across the state.

He further congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on the party’s successes in the recently concluded by-elections across the country, expressing confidence that the APC would continue to consolidate its political gains nationwide.
