Danjuma pre-wedding draws Aisha Buhari, Seyi Tinubu, Fintiri, Dino Melaye

Former first Lady Aisha Buhari, Seyi Tinubu, former Senator Dino Melaye, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and several other prominent Nigerians have been spotted at wedding celebrations for Saraya Danjuma and Bawa Salaka in Marbella, Málaga, Spain.

The gathering, which formed part of the celebrations surrounding the couple’s wedding, attracted personalities from Nigeria’s political, business and social circles, with photographs and video clips from the events circulating widely on social media.

Former First Lady Aisha Buhari, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, Melaye and businessman Ben Murray-Bruce were among the prominent personalities seen together in one of the widely circulated video clips.

Other video clips showed Governor Fintiri and Ahmed Indimi, who is married to Zahra Buhari, daughter of former President Muhammadu Buhari, alongside other members of Nigeria’s elite social circle.

The appearance of personalities from different political and public backgrounds at the same private social gathering has attracted particular attention online.

Some social-media users commented on the sighting of the personalities together, drawing attention to their different public associations and political backgrounds.

Others, however, noted that attending the same private social event does not necessarily indicate a political alliance, agreement or coordinated activity among the personalities.

The wedding celebrations are for Saraya Danjuma, daughter of retired Lieutenant General Theophilus Danjuma and Senator Daisy Danjuma, and Bawa Salaka.

The couple’s traditional wedding was held in May 2026 at the Danjuma family residence on Banana Island, Lagos, and attracted a high-profile gathering of political, military, business and social figures.

Among those reported to have attended the Lagos ceremony were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, businessman Femi Otedola and several former governors and prominent business leaders.

The Marbella celebrations have subsequently added an international dimension to the high-profile wedding, with guests and personalities sharing photographs and videos from the Spanish gathering.

The event has generated considerable discussion online, particularly because of the number of prominent Nigerians seen together in a relaxed social setting.

While some reactions focused on the lifestyles of Nigeria’s political and business elite, others viewed the gathering simply as a social occasion bringing together friends, families and associates.

The circulating videos, however, do not indicate that the personalities were attending a political meeting or had reached any political agreement.

At the centre of the celebrations remain Saraya and Bawa, whose wedding festivities have brought together prominent figures from across Nigeria’s political, business and social landscape in both Lagos and Marbella.
