Shettima Unveils Tinubu’s Economic Reform Agenda at J-INVEST 2026, Garo Represents Kano

Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima on Tuesday declared open the Jigawa State Economic and Investment Summit (J-INVEST 2026), reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investment and sustainable economic growth across Nigeria.

Speaking at the summit in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, Shettima said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has implemented bold but necessary structural and fiscal reforms aimed at placing the nation’s economy on the path of sustainable growth.

The Vice President explained that through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) and other reform initiatives, the Federal Government has replaced bureaucratic bottlenecks with strategic partnerships, enabling states to unlock their economic potential and attract greater investments.

According to him, the reforms are designed to improve the ease of doing business, encourage private sector participation, and strengthen economic opportunities across the federation.

Representing the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the summit was the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.

The event brought together policymakers, captains of industry, investors, development partners, and other stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on strategies for expanding investment, creating employment opportunities, and harnessing the economic potential of the states.

The summit also provided participating states with a platform to deepen economic partnerships, showcase investment opportunities, promote business growth, and explore innovative approaches to sustainable development.

Kano State’s participation underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening regional economic cooperation and attracting investments capable of driving industrial growth and improving the livelihoods of its citizens.
