Garo: More Kano youths will benefit from residential plot scheme

Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has assured youths who are yet to benefit from the state’s residential plot allocation scheme that more beneficiaries will be accommodated as subsequent phases of the exercise are implemented.

Garo gave the assurance when he received a delegation of youths and social media influencers who were members of the former All Progressives Congress (APC) across Kano State’s 44 local government areas.

The delegation, led by Comrade Salmanu Rabi’u Gwarzo, visited the Deputy Governor to express appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Garo for the allocation of residential plots to some members of the group.

Speaking during the visit, Gwarzo said the delegation came to acknowledge the administration’s recognition of young people who contributed to the party’s activities and growth over the years.

He particularly appreciated the role played by Garo in facilitating the process that led to the allocation of plots to some members of the group in the Dawanau and Panisau layouts.

Gwarzo said the delegation had decided to visit the Deputy Governor even without a prior appointment, expressing appreciation for his willingness to receive them and listen to their concerns.

He recalled the contributions of young members of the former APC across the state, saying their continued recognition by the administration demonstrated that their efforts had not been forgotten.

Responding, Garo described the gesture as encouraging and assured members who were yet to benefit that they would have their turn as further allocation exercises are undertaken.

He explained that the process was being conducted in line with established procedures, urging those awaiting allocation to remain patient.

The Deputy Governor also advised beneficiaries to regard the plots as long-term investments and use them for the purpose for which they were allocated rather than rushing to sell them.

He encouraged beneficiaries to preserve the value of the properties by developing them into residential homes and securing their future.

Garo further disclosed that discussions were ongoing on the provision of basic amenities, including electricity and water, in the affected layouts.

According to him, the planned infrastructure is part of the administration’s broader efforts to make residential schemes more viable and improve the living conditions of beneficiaries.

The Deputy Governor also promised to convey the delegation’s appreciation to Governor Yusuf.

The delegation expressed appreciation to the Governor and his deputy for the opportunities extended to members of the group, while those yet to benefit expressed optimism that they would be considered in subsequent phases of the residential plot allocation scheme.
