CAAS Initiative Leads Sexual and Reproductive Health Campaign in Kaduna College

Students of the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna, have been sensitised on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS prevention as part of efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, responsible decision-making and improved awareness among young people.

The sensitisation programme was organised by the Civic Action for Accountability and Sustainability Initiative (CAAS Initiative) in partnership with the Enhancing Communities Action for Peace and Better Health Initiative (e-CAPH) and Brave Youth Initiative.

The event brought together students and facilitators for interactive sessions aimed at equipping participants with accurate information on sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention and the importance of making informed life choices.

Organisers said the programme was designed to address misconceptions surrounding sexual and reproductive health while encouraging responsible behaviour among young people through education, awareness and open dialogue.

Participants were also enlightened on HIV/AIDS prevention, stigma reduction and the need for regular access to reliable health information and services.

Speaking during the programme, the organisers reaffirmed their commitment to promoting youth-friendly health education and empowering young people with knowledge that supports healthy living and informed decision-making.

They stressed that sustained awareness campaigns remain essential in reducing the spread of HIV, improving reproductive health outcomes and fostering safer communities.

The organisers further pledged to continue collaborating with educational institutions and relevant stakeholders to expand access to health education programmes that contribute to the wellbeing and development of young Nigerians.
