Murtala Garo Hails Nigerian Navy Logistics College at Graduation Ceremony in Kano

The Kano State Government has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Navy for its sustained commitment to personnel training and capacity development aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and national security.

The commendation was given by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who was represented by the Deputy Governor-designate and former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, at the combined graduation ceremony of officers and ratings of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Dawakin Tofa, Kano.

The ceremony featured the graduation of participants from five courses, namely the Logistics Officers’ Basic Course 37, Petty Officers Qualifying Course 48, Leading Seaman Qualifying Course 48, Basic Qualifying Course 56, and Basic Projects Qualifying Course 4.

Representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo described the graduation as a significant milestone in the careers of the officers and ratings, noting that modern military operations depend not only on sophisticated equipment but also on sound logistics, effective planning, and quality leadership.

He said the knowledge and skills acquired during the training would further strengthen the graduates’ capacity to contribute meaningfully to operational efficiency and combat readiness within the Nigerian Navy.

“The skills and knowledge you have acquired will enhance your ability to contribute meaningfully to operational effectiveness and combat readiness,” he stated.

Garo urged the graduating personnel to uphold the core values of honour, discipline, loyalty, professionalism, and selfless service as they return to their various units and formations across the country.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, human capital development, and national unity.

“On behalf of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, I congratulate the graduands on the successful completion of their respective courses and wish them continued success in their future assignments and professional careers in service to our nation,” he added.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Dawakin Tofa, Commodore A.A. Madawaki, described the graduation as another major milestone in the institution’s efforts to develop competent and highly skilled naval personnel.

He congratulated the graduating officers and ratings for successfully completing their programmes and noted that the training combined professional instruction with military discipline designed to strengthen both technical competence and leadership capacity.

According to him, the knowledge, skills, and values imparted during the courses were intended to prepare the graduates for the increasingly complex demands of modern naval logistics and administration.

“The knowledge and values instilled in you are tools to shape your character and guide your professional decisions,” Commodore Madawaki said.

He charged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the College and to apply their training diligently in the service of Nigeria.

Following the graduation ceremony, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo inspected several completed projects executed by the Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Council, Alhaji Muktar Anas Dan Maliki, across various communities within the local government area.

The visit formed part of efforts to assess ongoing developmental initiatives and promote grassroots development in the area.
