A massive explosion on Saturday ripped through the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) facility in Kaduna’s Kakuri Industrial Layout, leaving one person dead and several others injured.
The blast, whose cause remains unclear, was powerful enough to be heard across parts of the city, particularly in Chikun and Kaduna South local government areas.

Sources confirmed that one individual lost their life in the incident, while multiple others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, including the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
Although details are still emerging, eyewitnesses described the explosion as severe, noting that the impact caused panic in surrounding neighbourhoods.
Authorities have yet to identify what triggered the blast. Investigations are underway to determine the cause and assess the scale of the damage.
