Tinubu Gets 2027 Endorsement as Bagwai, Shanono APC Reaffirm Support for Ganduje

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bagwai and Shanono Local Government Areas of Kano State have reaffirmed their loyalty to the immediate past National Chairman of the party and Chairperson of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, and endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 general elections. This position was announced during a solidarity visit to Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, at the National Assembly. The delegation, led by Hon. Yusuf Badau, Member representing Bagwai/Shanono Federal Constituency, comprised APC executives, elders, caucus members, and former councillors from both local government areas. During the visit, the stakeholders rejected any early endorsement of a governorship candidate for the 2027 election, stressing that they would abide by whatever decision the party takes under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Birnin-Kudu Old Boys Association Announces 41st AGM

The Birnin-Kudu Old Boys Association (BIKOBA) has concluded all arrangements for its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Government Unity College, Birnin-Kudu, Jigawa State. This was conveyed in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of BIKOBA, Mahmud Ibrahim Kwari, and made available to The Historica Nigeria online newspaper on Wednesday. According to the statement, the AGM will commence at 9:00am in the Assembly Hall of the college, featuring a keynote public lecture to be delivered by Alhassan Mohammed, an Assistant Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The lecture, titled “Enhancing Career Development Through Information Technology,” will examine the importance of digital skills and the effective deployment of ICT tools for career advancement in a rapidly evolving technological era. The event will be chaired by Pharmacist Hashim Ubale Yusuf, while the Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, FCA, is expected as Special Guest of Honour. Former Governors of Kano and Jigawa States, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (CON) and Alhaji Sule Lamido (CON), will serve as Guests of Honour. 1,660 Delegates Elected for Osun APC Governorship Primary

A total of 1,660 delegates have been elected across the 332 wards in Osun State to choose the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the party’s primary election scheduled for Saturday. The delegate election, conducted on Wednesday across all wards, produced five delegates from each ward as stipulated by the party’s guidelines. Announcing the outcome at the APC state secretariat in Osogbo on Wednesday night, the Chairman of the 2025 Osun APC Governorship Delegate Congress Committee, Shehu Dange, confirmed that the process was successful and peaceful. He commended the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the state leadership for their cooperation and commitment to ensuring a smooth exercise. “By the grace of God, we delivered by producing delegates in all 332 wards without any issue. We appreciate the APC chapter in Osun State for the support that made this exercise peaceful,” he added. Dange also urged party members across the state to remain united before and after the primaries, noting that unity is key to strengthening the party and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced that he has joined the Accord Party as his new platform to seek re-election in August next year. The governor made the declaration on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Osogbo, in the presence of national and state leaders of the Accord Party. Adeleke explained that he officially joined the party on November 6, 2025, following weeks of consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders across Osun State. “Stakeholders and residents of Osun State are aware of why we are taking this important decision. We intend to pursue a second term in office on the platform of the Accord Party to complete ongoing delivery of good governance and democratic dividends, which have been applauded at home and abroad,” he said. He added that the Accord Party’s welfarist ideology aligns with his administration’s commitment to prioritising the well-being of citizens and workers. “I welcome our party leaders into the Osun State Government House. You are now part of us as I am also now part of you. We are united in progress and good intentions for the good people of Osun State and Nigeria at large,” he stated. The National Chairman of the Accord Party, Maxwell Mgbudem, welcomed Governor Adeleke into the party and pledged full support ahead of the coming election.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has declared a state of emergency across the region. Omar Touray, President of the ECOWAS Commission, announced the decision on Tuesday during the 55th Session of the Mediation and Security Council at the ministerial level in Abuja. The meeting was convened in response to the recent wave of coups and attempted mutinies recorded in parts of the sub-region. Touray said the situation underscores the “imperative of serious introspection on the future of our democracy and the urgent need to invest in the security of our community”.

FG Ends Physical Cash Payments, Orders PoS Deployment Across MDAs in 45 Days

The Federal Government has directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to eliminate physical cash transactions and fully adopt Point of Sale (POS) machines and other electronic payment platforms within the next 45 days. The directive, issued by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), forms part of a wide-ranging reform aimed at closing revenue leakages, strengthening accountability, and improving transparency in public financial management. According to the circular signed by the Accountant-General, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein, all MDAs must immediately configure and deploy POS terminals for revenue collection, while paper-based receipts are to be replaced with electronic receipts beginning January 2026. She added that any MDA that fails to comply with the new directive will face sanctions in accordance with extant financial regulations. The circular also announced the rollout of a new Revenue Assurance and Monitoring System designed to track payments in real time and provide government with a clearer picture of revenue performance across all sectors. The OAGF reiterated that the reforms are expected to enhance efficiency, reduce fraud risks, and improve citizens’ experience when transacting with government agencies.

Ganduje Warns APC Members Against Ranking Aspirants, Says It Breeds Division

Umar Idris Shuaibu, Kano The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has cautioned party members against creating divisions by ranking some aspirants above others, warning that such practices threaten the unity and internal cohesion of the party. Ganduje gave the warning during a women stakeholders’ meeting, where he emphasised the need for discipline and collective responsibility within the APC ahead of future political engagements. According to him, categorising aspirants into classes or portraying some as superior to others fuels unnecessary rivalry and weakens the party’s foundation. “That is why the chairman is saying we should stop separating candidates or aspirants by claiming one is above the other. This kind of thinking will only bring division in the party,” Ganduje said. It was like comparing an elephant and a rat. When an elephant steps on a rat, what happens? And when a rat climbs on an elephant, it may even think it is giving the elephant a massage,” he added. Ganduje noted that while aspirants are free to consult widely, build alliances and seek support, the party must rally around unity when the time comes to agree on a consensus candidate. He reiterated that collective decision-making remains crucial to sustaining the APC’s political strength, urging members to place the party’s interest above personal ambitions.
