Following a viral video report by journalist and whistleblower Bello Ghaladanchi, popularly known as Dan Bello, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has visited Day Science College in Kano and pledged a comprehensive renovation of the school.
The Governor’s visit was confirmed by the school’s Principal, Malam Abba Tukur, who shared the development on his Facebook page. Tukur expressed joy over the Governor’s prompt response, noting that the planned renovation would significantly improve the learning environment and promote science education in the state.

Reacting to the development, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano Science Schools Old Students Association (KASSOSA), Malam Halliru Sani, commended the Governor for demonstrating leadership and attentiveness to the needs of public institutions.
“Governor Yusuf has shown he is a listening leader whose actions will leave lasting impact on Kano’s development,” Sani stated.
He acknowledged that while KASSOSA regularly undertakes renovation projects in science schools across the state as part of their contribution to the development of their alma mater, it remains the primary responsibility of the government to ensure proper maintenance of public schools.
Halliru also called on well-meaning residents of Kano to continue raising important issues affecting public infrastructure and education, encouraging civic engagement as a means of prompting timely government intervention.
