FRSC opens 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise, inviting suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for various positions across its officer, marshal inspectorate and road marshal cadres.

According to a recruitment notice issued by the Corps, the exercise is aimed at attracting vibrant, intelligent and committed individuals who are willing to contribute to road safety administration and traffic management in Nigeria.

The Corps stated that applications are free of charge and must be submitted online through its official recruitment portal.

Under the recruitment exercise, vacancies are available in the Officer Cadre, Marshal Inspectorate Cadre and Road Marshal Assistant Cadre.

For the Officer Cadre, the positions include Superintendent Route Commander (SRC), Route Commander/Deputy Route Commander (RC/DRC), and Assistant Route Commander (ARC). Applicants are required to possess relevant university degrees and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificates.

The Marshal Inspectorate Cadre is open to holders of National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), Registered Nursing qualifications and other related certificates from recognized institutions.

Similarly, candidates seeking opportunities under the Road Marshal Assistant Cadre are required to possess a minimum of three credit passes in SSCE, including English Language and Mathematics. The category also accommodates drivers, mechanics, motorcycle riders, electricians, computer operators, plumbers, tailors and other artisans with relevant qualifications and skills.

The FRSC stated that applicants must be Nigerian by birth, computer literate, medically fit and of good character. Candidates must also be free from criminal convictions, financial indebtedness and visible tattoos.

The Corps further disclosed that applicants must use their personal email addresses and phone numbers during registration and warned that any false declaration of qualifications would attract sanctions.

According to the recruitment guidelines, applicants for officer positions must be between 18 and 35 years of age, while candidates applying as drivers must possess valid driver’s licences and fall within the age bracket specified by the Corps.

The FRSC also emphasized that possession of a valid National Driver’s Licence would serve as an added advantage for applicants across all cadres.

Interested candidates are expected to submit their applications online through the FRSC recruitment portal before the deadline, which is four weeks from July 3, 2026.

The Corps advised members of the public to beware of fraudsters, stressing that the recruitment exercise is entirely free and does not require any payment at any stage.

FRSC said the exercise forms part of efforts to strengthen its workforce and enhance its capacity to improve road safety and traffic management across the country.
