Former Kano State Governor and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has joined senior party leaders and women stakeholders at a pre-inaugural summit aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ganduje attended the event, held on Monday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, alongside the Director-General of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, and other members of the campaign council.
The summit, convened by the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was held under the theme, “Renewed Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity.”
APC National Women Leader, Mary Alile Idele, urged women leaders to strengthen networks across wards, local government areas and communities, identify women in need of support and connect them with available empowerment opportunities.

She said women must help communicate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda while building functional grassroots structures capable of delivering measurable results, reaffirming the women’s wing’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Chairperson of the House of Representatives Spouses Association (HORSA), Hajia Fatima Abbas Tajudeen, described Nigerian women as partners and active contributors to national development rather than mere beneficiaries.
She commended the Tinubu administration and the Renewed Hope Initiatives of the First Lady for their interventions in economic empowerment, social inclusion, education, healthcare and family welfare.
Tajudeen pledged that HORSA networks across the 360 federal constituencies would be deployed to support the party’s 2027 campaign, under the slogan, “One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
Similarly, Chairperson of the Governors’ Spouses Forum and wife of the Kwara State Governor, Olufolake AbdulRazaq, pledged the support of APC women for the party’s candidates in 2027.
She said women leaders from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as grassroots structures across the 774 local government areas, were prepared to work for the party’s success.
The summit also featured an empowerment component, with selected women beneficiaries receiving livelihood-support items as part of efforts to strengthen economic participation.
