The Senior Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on Fulfulde, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Rukayya Umar Gadon Kaya, has urged Fulani associations across the state to mobilise their members and communities in support of the governor’s bid for a second term in office in 2027.

Gadon Kaya made the call during a meeting she convened with leaders of various Fulani associations at her office in Kano, where she encouraged them to create awareness among their members and rally support for the governor ahead of the 2027 elections.

She said she would continue to engage Fulani communities and do everything possible to sensitise them to the need to support the Abba Kabir Yusuf-led administration for another term, arguing that such support would enable the communities to benefit more from government programmes and the dividends of democracy.

According to her, sustained engagement with Fulani communities was necessary to ensure that their concerns and interests remained part of the government’s development agenda.

The Kano State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, also pledged to support efforts aimed at improving the welfare of Fulani communities through the state government, even before the commencement of the 2027 election campaigns.

Doguwa, represented at the gathering by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mansur Soja, said the Fulani played a significant role in the socio-economic development of communities across the state.

He noted that their economic contributions included livestock rearing and related activities, which provide meat, milk and manure while supporting livelihoods and local economies.

The APC spokesman assured the gathering that the party would continue to recognise the contributions of Fulani communities and work towards addressing issues affecting them through appropriate government channels.

The meeting was attended by Fulani leaders and representatives of various associations under the Coalition of Fulani Associations, Kano State, led by Malam Idris Shuaibu Bayero, alongside other dignitaries and government representatives.
