Mariya Bunkure: Collective responsibility key to Nigeria’s shared prosperity

FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, has urged Nigerians to embrace collective responsibility and support stronger institutions and good governance as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Bunkure made the call at the 66th Independence Anniversary Public Lecture at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja, where she said Nigeria’s next phase of development must focus on translating economic progress into better opportunities and improved living conditions for citizens.

She said the theme of this year’s celebration, “From Reform to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity,” reflects the priorities facing the country at this stage of its development.

Bunkure stressed the need to strengthen institutions, deepen good governance, promote inclusive growth and build a more resilient and prosperous Nigeria.

She said the Federal Government remained focused on delivering the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring that progress being recorded translated into tangible development across communities.

According to her, achieving sustainable national development requires collective effort, with government and citizens working together towards shared national goals.

Bunkure congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the 66th Independence Anniversary, urging them to sustain their unity, shared commitment and faith in the country.

She expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to make progress towards becoming a stronger and more prosperous nation.
