The recent approval for the take off of Phase III of the Safe Corridor Programme by the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on the 28th of April 2026 at the Executive Council meeting, which took place at the Council Chamber of the Kano State Government House, stands as one of the boldest and most compassionate decisions ever taken in the interest of Kano youths. This visionary programme, aimed at rehabilitating 1,000 repentant youths across the state for the first phase of the rehabilitation, is not just a government initiative; it is a message of hope, mercy, restoration, and a ray of hope indicating a brighter future ahead for Kano State.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has once again demonstrated that true leadership is not only about constructing roads and buildings, but also about rebuilding lives, restoring hope and dignity, and creating opportunities for those who once lost their path or misled. At a time when many societies choose punitive and kinetic measures, over civil and diplomatic approach to systematically transform the lives, through rehabilitation, and Empowerment, His Excellency has chosen humanity over condemnation and attitudinal change over abandonment.
