Gaya Polytechnic set for academic take-off as Kano Govt reviews progress

The Kano State Government has announced plans to commence academic activities at the Gaya Polytechnic as work continues towards the establishment of the institution.
The development was conveyed in a statement issued by Suhailu Tijjani Khalil, Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Gaya Polytechnic Implementation Committee.
According to the statement, the Chairman of the committee, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, alongside the Kano State Commissioner for Education, Dr Ali Haruna Makoda, and the committee’s Secretary, Shehu Sani Shehu, met with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to present an update on the progress of the project.

During the meeting, Professor Kurawa briefed the governor on the activities undertaken by the committee, progress recorded so far, challenges encountered and measures being taken to advance the establishment of the institution.
The committee also presented its report on the development of the proposed polytechnic and highlighted areas requiring further attention before the commencement of academic activities.
Governor Yusuf assured the committee that his administration would work towards completing the outstanding aspects of the project.
The governor said the government was committed to ensuring that the remaining components were completed with the aim of commencing academic activities at the institution within the current academic session.
