‘We will not back down’ – Sadiq Sani Sadiq speaks on planned peaceful protest

Popular Kannywood actor, Sadiq Sani Sadiq, has reaffirmed his commitment to a planned protest against hardship, insecurity, inflation, and what he described as worsening governance challenges affecting Nigerians, particularly residents of the North-West region.

The actor, who recently attracted public attention after calling for mass action over rising cases of banditry, kidnapping, and economic difficulties, said the proposed demonstration would be conducted peacefully and differently from previous protests witnessed in Northern Nigeria.

In a video clip shared on his social media platforms, Sadiq said he had listened to the opinions of supporters, friends, and critics regarding the proposed protest and appreciated the diverse views expressed on the matter.

“I have listened to all your advice and opinions. I have heard those who support the protest and those who oppose it. I appreciate all your contributions and I thank you,” he stated.

The actor, however, maintained that he would not abandon the planned action, stressing that the protest would be organised in a peaceful and orderly manner.

He explained that details of the demonstration would be unveiled soon, adding that the initiative would differ significantly from the type of protests often associated with unrest or disorder.

According to him, the objective is to draw attention to pressing issues affecting ordinary Nigerians, including insecurity, inflation, economic hardship, banditry, and kidnapping, which have continued to threaten lives and livelihoods across several states in Northern Nigeria.

Sadiq’s position has generated discussions across social media platforms, with supporters describing the initiative as a legitimate civic effort to demand improved governance, while others have expressed concerns over the possibility of unrest.

The actor, however, reiterated that the planned protest would remain peaceful and lawful, urging the public to await further details on its mode of operation.
