Kano Declares Id-el-Kabir Holiday for Schools

The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the Id-el-Kabir holiday break for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the ministry, Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, and made available to ‘The Historica Nigeria‘ on Wednesday.

According to the statement, all boarding schools are to proceed on holiday from Saturday, May 23, 2026, and resume on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Similarly, day schools are expected to commence the holiday break from Friday, May 22, 2026, and resume on Monday, June 1, 2026.

The ministry advised parents and guardians of students in boarding schools to pick up their children on the approved closing date and ensure their timely return on the resumption date.

The Commissioner of Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, wished students, teachers, parents, and the entire education community a peaceful and joyous Id-el-Kabir celebration.
