The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of veteran journalist and media executive, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Getso.
In a statement issued by the Council Secretary, Hauwa Suleiman Zahradeen, the Acting Chairman of the Council, Comrade Mustapha Gambo, extended the union’s heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, associates, and the entire Getso community in Gwarzo Local Government Area over the loss.
The union prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the late journalist, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and provide his family and loved ones with the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Reflecting on the life and contributions of the deceased, Comrade Gambo described the late Adamu Getso as a dedicated and versatile media professional whose service to journalism and public enlightenment left an enduring legacy.

“The late Adamu Getso was a versatile media executive who dedicated his career to the service of the people and the journalism profession. His impact on public enlightenment remains a reference point in the state,” he said.
The NUJ noted with appreciation Getso’s significant role as a lead anchor of major political and developmental programmes during the first and second administrations of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
According to the union, his outstanding broadcasting skills contributed immensely to informing, educating, and engaging citizens on government activities and key societal issues across Kano State and beyond.
The council stated that the media fraternity and people of Kano State would continue to remember the late broadcaster for his professionalism, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the development of journalism.
The union reiterated its solidarity with the family, colleagues, and associates of the deceased, noting that his voice, experience, and dedication to the profession will be greatly missed.
