The Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has denied reports alleging that a State High Court struck out corruption charges filed against former Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo.
The Commission described the reports as inaccurate and misleading, clarifying that no such ruling was delivered.
Spokesperson of the judiciary in Kano, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, made the clarification on Tuesday in Kano, following the circulation of reports claiming that the case against Garo had been dismissed.
According to the earlier reports, the ruling was purportedly delivered by Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji of High Court No. 15, sitting on Miller Road, Kano, bringing an abrupt end to the case marked Suit No. K/133C/2024.

The case was instituted by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission against Garo and other defendants.
Those listed alongside the former commissioner include Mohd Sule Garo, Mustapha Sule Garo, Isah Musa Kera, MJ Multipurpose Services Ltd., and A.U. Future Investment Ltd.
However, the JSC maintained that the reports suggesting that the court struck out the charges do not reflect the true position of the case.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to upholding accurate judicial information and urged the public to disregard misleading reports regarding court proceedings.
