According to eyewitnesses, Tigri led an attack on the residence of President Patrice Talon in the capital city of Porto-Novo, reportedly deposing him as leader. Images broadcast on national television showed Tigri, flanked by other soldiers, reading from a script as he announced the military’s takeover.
