The Kano State Online Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungoggo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji.
The late lawmakers represented Ungoggo and Kano Municipal constituencies respectively and passed away on Wednesday evening after a protracted illness.
In a condolence statement issued on Wednesday, the Chapel described their deaths as a painful loss that has cast a dark shadow over Kano State and beyond, noting that the state has lost committed legislators whose voices and dedication to public service contributed significantly to governance and representation.
Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Abubakar Abdulƙadir Ɗangambo, said the demise of the two lawmakers has deprived Kano of experienced and passionate public servants, creating a vacuum in the legislative arm that would be difficult to fill.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibrin Ismail Falgore, members of the Assembly, and the people of Kano State.
According to the statement, the loss goes beyond the immediate families, describing it as a monumental setback to the state and the nation, given the roles both lawmakers played in advancing the interests of their constituents.
On behalf of members of the Kano State Online Media Chapel, the NUJ prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the departed souls and asked that their families be granted the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji were serving members of the Kano State Legislature until their deaths, which have continued to draw reactions from political stakeholders and residents across the state.
