
A High Court in Kano under Justice Zuwaira Yusuf has issued a restraining order against Ganduje Foundation, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Haroun Ibn Sina over their plan to establish an independent Hisba Fisabilillah.
Other defenders in the suit included, Kano Police Commissioner and other security agencies in the state.
This followed a lawsuit filed before the court by Northern Youth Assembly ( NYA), Majalisar Matasan Arewa, challenging the formation and operation of any independent Hisba body.

The counsel to the applicant, Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu, told reporters that, the court ordered the defenders to halt any action pending the determination of the suit.
Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu explained that, security agencies included in the suit are to ensure compliance of the order.
The counsel said, Justice Zuwaira Yusuf has adjourned the case till 30th of December 2025 for further hearing.
