The Kano State Government has announced that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has been formally nominated for a Distinguished Award for Visionary Leadership and Public Service Sector Reform at the forthcoming Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS).
The nomination was conveyed through a letter from M. S. Danjuma, Permanent Secretary (General Service Office), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The announcement was signed by Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, obtained by ‘The Historica Nigeria‘ on Sunday.

The recognition, issued on behalf of the Federal Government, highlights Governor Yusuf’s exceptional commitment to purposeful governance, strategic reforms, and transformative leadership that continue to reposition Kano State as a model of progressive public administration.
Organised by The Best Strategic (TBS) Media in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), the award will be presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a high-profile ceremony scheduled for Sunday, 7th December 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
The nomination is widely regarded as a testament to Governor Yusuf’s dedication to serving the people of Kano with integrity, vision, and innovation, as well as an affirmation of the far-reaching impact of his reforms across key sectors of the state.
