The Director-General of Protocols to the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo, alongside the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, has led leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Rogo Local Government Area to urge Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a report by ‘The Historica Nigeria‘, the appeal followed a stakeholders’ meeting of NNPP leaders and caucus members from Rogo Local Government Area, where participants unanimously resolved to call on the two political leaders to join the APC.
Addressing journalists in Kano, Rogo said the meeting brought together NNPP leaders, ward chairmen, and other key stakeholders to review the political situation in Kano State and at the national level.
He explained that after extensive deliberations, the stakeholders collectively agreed to appeal to Senator Kwankwaso and Governor Yusuf to consider defecting to the APC in the interest of political stability and development.
Rogo described Senator Kwankwaso as the undisputed leader of the NNPP in Kano State, noting that the appeal was made out of loyalty, respect, and concern for the future of the state.

He added that the call was not intended as a challenge to Kwankwaso’s leadership but as a sincere request aimed at strengthening Kano’s political relevance.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, said aligning with the APC would help promote political unity and accelerate development across the state.
According to him, closer cooperation with the federal government would enhance access to democratic dividends and development projects, particularly for communities in Rogo Local Government Area.
The NNPP leaders stressed that their appeal was driven by the collective interest of the people rather than personal political ambitions.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso nor Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had publicly reacted to the appeal.
