Zone One AIG Convenes Strategic Meeting Over Rising Insecurity in Kano, Jigawa

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone One Headquarters, Kano, AIG Ahmed Garba, has convened a high-level meeting with tactical and intelligence commanders from Kano and Jigawa States to address the recent surge in banditry affecting parts of Kano State. This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, CSP Bashir Muhammad ANIPR.

According to the statement, the meeting, held on November 25, 2025, focused on developing a coordinated and comprehensive strategy to curb the rising security threats in the zone. The AIG and field commanders reviewed ongoing operations and agreed on modalities to strengthen the ongoing deployment of police personnel from the Kano Command as well as military units already stationed in the affected communities.

AIG Garba reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property, urging residents to cooperate fully with security agencies in the fight against banditry and other criminal activities. He assured citizens of Kano and Jigawa States of Zone One’s steadfast dedication to maintaining law and order.

The statement further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security formation.
