Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced that he has joined the Accord Party as his new platform to seek re-election in August next year.
The governor made the declaration on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Osogbo, in the presence of national and state leaders of the Accord Party.
Adeleke explained that he officially joined the party on November 6, 2025, following weeks of consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders across Osun State.
“Stakeholders and residents of Osun State are aware of why we are taking this important decision. We intend to pursue a second term in office on the platform of the Accord Party to complete ongoing delivery of good governance and democratic dividends, which have been applauded at home and abroad,” he said.
He added that the Accord Party’s welfarist ideology aligns with his administration’s commitment to prioritising the well-being of citizens and workers.
“I welcome our party leaders into the Osun State Government House. You are now part of us as I am also now part of you. We are united in progress and good intentions for the good people of Osun State and Nigeria at large,” he stated.
Adeleke stressed the need for a united political front as the state prepares for the 2026 elections, assuring that his leadership would remain inclusive and responsive to the interests of all groups.

“Since I joined the party more than a month ago, I have been fascinated by the philosophy of this great party. The focus on people’s welfare should always be at the heart of public leadership. The primary essence of a government is the welfare and well-being of the people,” he added.
He maintained that his administration has continued to prioritise welfare-driven programmes across the state, stressing that Osun has recorded improved service delivery in infrastructure and social services under his leadership.
Adeleke further described Accord as the “new platform for victory” across all zones of the state as the 2026 election approaches.
“In accordance with the will of our stakeholders and to accord deep respect for the wishes of Osun people, I hereby accordingly declare for the Accord Party,” he said.
The National Chairman of the Accord Party, Maxwell Mgbudem, welcomed Governor Adeleke into the party and pledged full support ahead of the coming election.
